Stein about Shadowmere, Shadowmeretales and Shadowmereclassic.

Dear Shadowmere players,

here is my view of what currently happens in Shadowmere. My family and my work take most of my time now. And I have lacked the time for Shadowmere for a while already. We had many people helping with coding and administration over the years. They came and they left. It was time to pass responsibility to someone who can donate more time and ambition to Shadowmere. That is why I gave the responsibility to Dogma. He is not alone though. He has people in the background who help him with his task.

Why are we moving to shadowmeretales.com? I must say that I had the idea to start out with a new domain. The shadowmere.de domain had always the problem that it does not make clear that it is hosting a game with English as language. The tales part refers to new content that will be brought in by Dogma.  Unfortunately I could not give the new coders full access to the gameserver or testserver. But they got access to the shadowmeretales server. It was much easier to get new content updated there. Additionally Shadowmeretals is based on different concepts so that the code does not match for updates.

In preparation to giving responsibilities to Dogma, I also talked to Sunna and Jackie and to Dan Kavanaugh. While Sunna and Jackie wanted the best for Shadowmere as always, talking to Dan was no pleasure. He had not cared for Shadowmere for a decade. Now he suddenly tried to strike against it and even wanted a lot of money. When I see Lucifer with his shadowmereclassic site, I have the feeling that this is Dan trying to hurt you all. For example he spread lies on facebook like that Shadowmeretales has no active coder. Enough to that. But you can be sure that I do not like it.

I feel sorry for Lucifer though. He wanted the best for Shadowmere for a long time. I would really wish he could find a way to work for the game and not against it.

My proposal is that this page stays up for a while. I added the login to shadowmeretales to the right. There will be a new frontpage for Shadowmeretales in the future. But you should give the designer the time he needs. I would advise to play on Shadowmeretales though. The game neeeds permanent change and that is what you will find there.

I support Dogma and his helpers. They have put a lot more work into Shadowmeretales than you can see at this time.  I experienced the stormy resistance against any change. You all know that good concepts will persist and bad concepts will be remade. That is the way development goes.

Sunki reset on 20. Jan and additional universe closures, Sera update

UPDATE: It seems Trood is quite active, it will remain in the game with Dan, but will never reset like Dan.

Hi Everyone, as we are progressing with our transition to SMT, we are closing down further universes here and opening new one in SMT.

We will reset Sunki in SMT on following times

20.Jan 2012 4.00PM EST
20.Jan 2012 3.00PM CST

Please be aware that after Sunki resets, Sunki, Trood, EF will be closed down on this site. Sunki will open at Shadowmeretales.

As you know Sera is our experimental universe at the moment, we are happy to say it is progressing very nicely. In line with good results, we have a little surprise for you store in Sera soon....Check SMT for more details.

Sera Reset times in ShadowmereTales

Sera will reset in less than 24 hours, reset will take place at:

09.Jan 2012 9.00PM GMT/UTC
09.Jan 2012 4.00PM EST

Sera in sm will close down, we will be moving most of the game discussion over to smt. Sera in smt will have Dan rules, 5 mils, no deties, no bars on others, no vamps and wolves. This is only temporary, till whole thing transitions.

Sera reset and transitioning over to Shadowmeretales

Well here we go, you have all been seeing all new changes mentioned in chat and you have been visiting Shadowmeretales (SMT) seeing all the new stuff. We are now going to slowly transition over to SMT, first reset will be Sera on 10th of Jan 2012. However, the reset will happen on SMT, whilst it happens there, the current universe of Sera on SM will shut down.

SMT can be found following this link: Shadowmeretales.

This will be ideal opportunity for us to test out any bugs or any other mistakes that you can find.

Also a universe WhiteSands will be available, which is our test universe, where you can create up to 10 multies, multies can interact with eachother and you can also edit your kingdom like you were able to do in Sarah - all without the need for a seperate log in.

We will be slowly transitioning over to SMT, and then we will have a master reset on SMT where we will need all users to register and Shadowmere will at that point close down.

P.S. I have updated the race mods on wiki, specifically added w/a study rate mods and some other tweaks in accordance with upcoming patch 0.1. for SMT.

Merry Christmas to Everyone :)

Ho Ho Ho! Merry Christmas to everyone :) I believe it is time to start wrapping up the year slowly as I doubt I will be posting any more till next year.

I hope everyone has had some fun over the past year and have been excited about all the new stuff. I know not everything has happened yet, due to various reasons (loosing a web designer etc etc). Nevertheless, in new year we have some great plans in place. So what to expect.

* All the previous things mentioned are still in plan and hopefully we can kick start them in new year
* We will no longer be updating SM, but will be transitioning over to www.shadowmeretales.com the moment we get it up and running. * I have a new web guy who will hopefull be able to start at the beginning of next year.

Some racial changes we are planning/pondering/considering

* Halflings mutiny range increased, they also will be getting a new special
* Minotaurs food production increased
* Centaurs wms production increased to 210%
* Goblins might get a new/old special (considering duration fear), better mana
* Gnomes, will be only able to build def and not able to use wms....maybe....
* Sinning changes
* Plague changes....

and many many more.

Small Update!

Sunki is reset, however Stein has not uploaded the code yet unfortunately, thus. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO CREATE A VAMPIRE OR WEREWOLF KINGDOM IN SUNKI. Anyone caught doing so will be deleted. Once new code goes up, it won't be a problem anymore

Sunki Reset & Patch 0.0.2.

Hi Guys,

Sunki is going to reset tomorrow, please have a look to your right (under login fields) for times. This time Sunki will not have Vamps or Werewolves.

Also in other news, Patch 0.0.2. will go live with Sunki reset, this is what you can find in it.

1. Reset Counter - yes finally it is here! What it is and how will it work? Reset Counter is being introduced so that if a kingdom is created after 50h of universe reset, the kingdom gets straight away 200 turns. This will allow people to start playing their kingdoms straight away after they create the kingdom, without the need to wait a day. Sunki reset will place the Reset Counter game wide for all universes.

How does it work: If you create your kingdom right after the universe resets, you will get 150 turns. If you miss reset, you will get 1 turn for every hour you missed so i.e. if the reset is at 12.00 pm and you created your kingdom at 3.00 pm (3h later), your kingdom will have 153 turns. This way the player will still have incentive to create earlier and at the same time it will not be abused. After 50h all kingdoms created get 200 turns. Please provide feedback or if you see any bugs.

2. You will no longer be able to assassinate Economy, Construction, Warmachine, Weapons, Armor and Magic skill study. We will be introducing alternatives in SMT.

3. Not really affecting players, but we can now with ease take off races from the choice list at Kingdom creation screen.
